Natural Dermal Fillers for Face and Lips

Natural fillers for face & lips
Natural Beauty

Youthful skin is rich in hyaluronic acid. As we age, the distribution and function of hyaluronic acid in our skin gradually change, leading to the characteristic signs of ageing.

Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm® or Restylane® are smart and easy ways to add volume and smoothness to your skin. They are made of hyaluronic acid gel that closely resembles the body's own hyaluronic acid. It is long lasting, but not permanent. Both Juvederm® and Restylane® are FDA-approved for use to restore volume and youth to the face. Fillers enhance your natural looks by restoring your skin's volume, creating softness and revitalizing your appearance.

Who can inject fillers?

Hyaluronic acid comes in an injectable gel which should always be administered by a trained, medically-qualified practitioner. The doctors at The Sloane Clinic are certified Master trainers in Restylane by Q-med. Click here They are also certified trainers of Juvederm by Allegan.

How do fillers work?

Youthful skin is rich in hyaluronic acid. As we age, the distribution and function of hyaluronic acid in our skin gradually change, leading to the characteristic signs of aging. Hyaluronic acid gels work by enhancing your skin's own stock of hyaluronic acid, directly adding volume to either soften the signs of aging or enhance your features.

The procedure is quick. It usually takes less than 30 minutes. The benefits can be seen immediately.

What areas can be treated?
  • Lines and wrinkles

Hyaluronic acid fillers provides volume by supporting the skin's structure. Treatment benefits can be seen immediately and are long lasting but not permanent. Fillers works from beneath the skin to lift and smooth away lines and restore your skin's appearance.

  • Restores fullness to lips

Hyaluronic acid fillers come in special formulations that are specially designed to create the beautiful looking lips you desire. Whether you'd like to have softer, fuller lips - or just add a touch of volume in the lip border to give a more sculpted look - hyaluronic acid is the perfect treatment for you.

  • Cheeks and chin

Rediscover your cheekbones! While there is no such thing as the perfectly shaped face, we do know that better definition of the central triangle formed by the eyes and lips enhances the perception of beauty. With hyaluronic acid fillers you can draw attention back to your cheekbones. By replacing lost natural volume in the skin, fillers can create fuller cheeks, lifting the skin over your cheekbones to restore shape to the upper part of your face, or add emphasis to your chin to improve your profile.

  • Skin Rejuvenation and hydration

Hyaluronic acid has special formulas that are developed specially for skin rejuvenation and hydration, countering the effects of sun damage and the natural aging process of the skin. It improves skin elasticity, making the skin look hydrated and feel smooth to the touch. It is perfect for difficult-to-treat areas, such as the backs of hands or decolletage, as well as the face. It diminishes the fine crepey lines caused by sun damage and the natural aging process and smoothes the skin to give a plump and hydrated look. The benefits of a Hyaluronic acid treatment generally last for several months and can be maintained by repeated treatment once or twice a year. However, there are no restrictions on how often you can be treated.

  • Hyaluronic acid "facelift"

At The Sloane Clinic, the doctors have found that fillers can be distributed over strategic areas of the entire face to "hold up" saggy skins and to give an overall "facelift" appearance without the need for surgery. Hyaluronic acid fillers have been found to stimulate your own skin's production of collagen so the effects of this procedure get better with time. Patients will see an enhanced firmness and lifting effect after 1 to 3 sessions depending on the severity of their condition. Effects are long lasting for over a year.
Are all hyaluronic acid fillers made the same?

Is a Ferrari the same as a Fiat? Similarly, not all hyaluronic acid fillers are made the same. Some are not FDA-approved while others may not have the same longevity or safety profile of FDA-approved products. This may explain the difference in price, and most of all, results and safety profiles of the treatments. It is important not to compromise on quality when using injectables for your face. Always ask to see the product packaging prior to starting treatment with your physician to ensure that you are receiving an FDA-approved product.

What can I expect before the treatment?

The doctor will have a consultation with you to discuss the best way to help you achieve your desired results. Depending on the area treated, you may have numbing cream applied on your skin or a small injection to anaesthetize the treated area. You will be awake during the treatment. The treatment takes about 30 to 45 minutes and most patients have found it comfortable.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Some redness or mild swelling may occur, however, this will dissipate shortly. Occasionally, bruising may occur, but resolves in a few days. However, you can apply makeup immediately after and continue with normal activities. After the treatment, you should avoid alcohol for the day to prevent bruising.

What can I do to prepare for the treatment?

You should avoid alcohol, aspirin, vitamin E, gingko and other medicines that may cause your skin to bruise easily.
