Effective and long-term acne solution.
Acne is one of the most commonly diagnosed skin disorders, affecting nearly 80 percent of the population worldwide, and is the number one reason for patients' visits to a dermatologist. Those who have been plagued by acne will understand how it not only affects the physical aspect but also the psychology of the individual.

How does Smoothbeam help me?
The Smoothbeam® 1450 nm diode laser is the first FDA-approved laser for acne treatment. Smoothbeam® laser treatment effectively treats acne by emitting a wavelength of light that generates heat in and around the sebaceous glands, altering the structure of the glands and thereby reducing the over-production of acne-causing sebum. This allows for effective, long-lasting acne clearance. Smoothbeam® provides the perfect balance of controlled cooling of the epidermis with precise heating of the upper dermis, hence making the treatment comfortable for its patient. Other benefits of the Smoothbeam® include improvement in moderate acne scarring and superficial fine lines such as those found around the eyes.
What sort of results can I expect?
During a study where researchers treated twenty patients of varying skin tones, with three Smoothbeam® laser treatments at four-week intervals, the doctors found an astounding 75 percent reduction in the number of acne lesions in all subjects after the final treatment, with significant improvement seen after the first laser treatment. Additionally, acne scarring was improved by 26 to 50 percent in all patients studied post treatment.
What is the treatment like?
The treatment is very quick and takes about half an hour to complete. First, the treated area is cleansed. An anaesthetic cream is applied to the area to ensure maximal comfort. Each pulse of laser is delivered with a spray of cool air to protect the outer skin and provide comfort. There may be some mild redness after, which will disappear quickly. There is no downtime after the treatment. You can apply make-up immediately after if needed and continue with your normal activities.
How many sessions do I need?
It is recommended for most patients to complete a course of 6 sessions or to undergo our Purifying Program (which includes 6 sessions of Smoothbeam®) for optimal and long lasting results.
Free of the side effects often associated with topical and oral treatments, Smoothbeam® laser treatments has also produced improvements in overall skin texture and quality of complexion.
