Why is Light Lift so popular?
Light Lift with the GentleYAG can be performed on all skin types including darker skin types not treatable by other lasers. Our GentleYAG system is ideal for repairing the collagen structures in the skin which makes it great for anti-ageing and wrinkle reduction. The GentleYAG is also the preferred treatment for treating broken capillaries and spider veins, which can disappear in as little as one treatment. We will perform a comprehensive analysis of your skin allowing us to recognize problem areas and determine the appropriate device, giving you the best results possible.
How does the Light Lift works?
The Gentle YAG laser creates a beam of high intensity light that penetrates deeply into the skin where it causes a deep heating of tissues and contraction of the skin. The laser beam is preceded by a short burst of cooling cryogen spray which protects the outer skin and makes the treatment comfortable.
Which areas can be treated?
Light Lift can be used to treat sagging skin on the face, and body (such as tummy and thighs). It is excellent for lifting and toning up ageing skins and for maintenance and prevention of future sagging in normal skins.
How many treatments will I need?
For optimal results, a series of 3 to 6 treatments are recommended. Follow-up treatments may be desired once or twice a year to maintain results.
What is treatment like?
Treatment may vary from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. First, the treated area is cleansed and depending on the treatment. When the pulse of laser light is delivered, the sensation is similar to a snap of a rubber band. After treatment the skin cleansed, cooled with a cool compress, and a sunscreen is applied. There is minimal aftercare needed and patients can return to normal activities immediately after.
Are there any possible side effects?
Side effects are rare but can include burning, blistering, scabbing, and changes in pigmentation. Immediately following treatment, the skin may appear flushed, brown pigmented spots may appear darker, and capillaries may be more visible. In rare instances, temporary swelling may occur.
What improvement will I see?
Patients have a high degree of satisfaction with their results. Expect to see a gradual decrease in redness, broken capillaries, flushing, irregular pigmentation, pore size and fine lines. After each treatment, the skin will feel smoother and appear to have a more even tone.
How much does the laser treatment cost?
The cost depends upon how much of an area is treated, but can be surprisingly reasonable. Treatments are less expensive when purchased in a series of treatments.
